Professional practice and education

The subject benchmark standard for librarianship, information, knowledge, records and archives management defines the academic standards that can be expected of a graduate, in terms of what they might know, do and understand at the end of their studies, and describes the nature of the subject.

The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), Australian Society of Archivist (ASA) and Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA) collaborated on the development of the Foundation Knowledge, Skills and Attributes for information professionals working in archives, libraries and records management. 
 

This document outlines the foundation knowledge required by an entry-level graduate employed in the library and information sector. 
 
This document replaces "The library and information sector: core knowledge, skills and attributes (2014)".
